The DHMA is closed on Friday 15 May

The Danish Health and Medicines Authority will be closed on 15 May, the day after Ascension Day.

However, the Public Health Medical Officers operate a 24-hour emergency service and we process urgent applications for compassionate use permits (applications for dispensing of non-marketed medicines).

The DHMA 24-hour service

We operate a 24-hour emergency service to respond to urgent enquiries from authorities such as the police, doctors and environmental institutions, as well as enquiries about radiation protection.

24-hour service East covers Eastern Denmark (east of the Great Belt).

Enquiries from treating doctors or authorities in the period from 14 May to 17 May 2015 can be made to the 24-hour service East and 24-hour service West. This applies to enquiries about:

  • highly specialised treatment abroad
  • second opinion/experimental treatment abroad
  • guarantee of treatment for life-threatening diseases

Compassionate use permits

Physicians, dentists or veterinarians can submit applications electronically by using a NemID employee signature or via fax to +45 44 88 91 17, marking the application "URGENT".

We will be taking questions about compassionate use permits on +45 44 88 96 53 or by mail to udleveringstilladelser@dkma.dk, on Friday 15 May from 10am to 3pm.
